After having accumulated a vast experience in Cie. Gle Maritime / French Line, one of the most prestigious shipping companies of the world, Mr. Carlos Gomez felt that it was time to seek his own path and to start his own company. 

A natural dream for the professional man who clearly understood that having made good relationships through all these years, and having worked on the basis of friendship and effort, he would soon take his first successful step.

That is how Sopisco Panama was born in 1994.  With a strong commercial friendship with Captain Antonio Aloè, who then figured as supercargo of the Horn Linie, they decided to simultaneously open Sopisco Ecuador and Sopisco Panama.

A big challenge to Mr. Carlos Gomez who knew that in Panama, shipping companies had a trajectory bound to the history of the first days of the Republic of Panama and with whom he had to deal with to obtain part of the market which was practically captured by those established companies.

His wife’s constant and professional efforts and later on, those of his sons, added to the company’s assets along with a team of professionals staff where the personalized service has been recognized internationally.

The company is now managed by Mr. Don Gomez and with a group of enthusiastic and well trained collaborators with over 40 years of experience, maintaining its personalized and first class service, gaining credibility and confidence with all our customers and vendors.
